Robert Henry's father was Ernest Alfred Martin and his mother was Henrietta Mary Webb. His maternal grandparents were John Henry Webb and Julia Connelly. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Godfrey Edward, George, Ernest, Richard Webb, Annie Fredricka, Eleanor and Phebe May.-
