Meir was born on March 24th, 1924 in Dorohoi.1   Meir's father was MISSING GIVENAME Bandel and his mother was MISSING GIVENAME Mendelovici.  His paternal grandparents were UNKNOWN PATERNAL ANCESTOR SURNAMED Bender (Bandel) and UNKNOWN MATERNAL ANCESTORS; his maternal grandparents were MISSING GIVENAME Mendelovici and Haita (Chayah) Solomon?. He had a sister named Matilda.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died from cancer at the age of 57 in May 1981 in Haifa.  He was buried at the Jewish Cemetery for Haifa area "Kfar-Samir (Sdeh-Yehoshu'a)".1 1
