John was born in 1392. John's father was Thomas De Mowbray and his mother was Lady Elizabeth d'Arundelle Fitzalan.  His paternal grandparents were De Mowbray 4th Lord Mowbray and Elizabeth seagrave. He had a brother and three sisters, named Thomas, Margaret, Isabel and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died before 1460.
