Annie was born in 1866 in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Annie's father was Robert Hogg and her mother was NN Hogg. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Hogg, Janie, Jean, Maggie and Hogg.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
