Phyllis Louisa was born on February 16th, 1880 in Berlin, Victoria. Phyllis Louisa's father was Joseph Henry Walker and her mother was Esther Ann Russell. Her paternal grandparents are Joseph Mattley Walker and Margaret Steward; her maternal grandparents were George Russell and Emily Lepper. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Arthur, Henry, George Thomas, Frederick, Margaret Ann, Elizabeth, Emma and Alice. She is the fifth oldest of the nine children.
