István's father was Bódis György and his mother was Fehér Anna. He had three brothers and six sisters, named György, György, Károly, Franciska, Zsuzsanna, Anna, Gizella Terézia, Margit and Terézia.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named György, László, Körimama and Teréz.  He died at the age of 3 on September 25th, 1887 in Komárom.
