Marcus was born on October 30th, 1881 in Ridderkerk.1  Marcus' father was Hendrik TAMERIS and his mother was Trijntje van GELDEREN.  His paternal grandparents were Arie TAMERUS and Trijntje ROMIJN; his maternal grandparents were Cornelis van GELDEREN and Johanna VALSTER. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Arie, Arie, Cornelis, Johannes, Leendert, Hendrik, Jan, Trijntje and Johanna.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 1 on August 12th, 1883 in Ridderkerk.2
