Arie's father was Joost TAMERUS and his mother was Lijsbet HIJSTEK. He had two brothers and a sister, named Matheus, Lodewijk and Clasina. He was the youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 66 on March 28th, 1851 in Almkerk en Uitwijk.¹
