James was born on May 27th, 1802 in Washington Co., KY.  James' father is Bernard Brown and his mother is "Nancy" Ann (Nancy) Riney.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 50 on January 21st, 1853.  He was buried in St. Mary's Cem., Lavaca Co., TX.
