James was born on October 2nd, 1625 in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, , England.1   James' father was Thomas Whiton and his mother was Audry Whiton.  His paternal grandparents were William Whiton and Catherine Ardene Arderne. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Jeremy, Jeremiah, G Thomas I, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  He died at the age of 84 on April 26th, 1710 in Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States.2
