Welcome was born on December 22nd, 1826 in Vermont, United States.1   Welcome's father was Daniel White and his mother was Mary Durant.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas White and Elinor Brown; his maternal grandparents were William Durant and Mary Tyng. He had two sisters named Rowena and <Unknown>.  He died at the age of 82 on December 28th, 1908 in Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, United States.
