Ulysses S was born in March 1867 in West Virginia.1   Ulysses S' father was Benjamin Franklin Sapp and his mother was Mary Lydia Weaver.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Franklin Sapp and Sarah Rebecca Guthrie; his maternal grandparents were John Weaver and Mary Ann Wolfe. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Ray, Hayes B, Wade Hampton, Bruce, Page, Waldo Creed, <Unknown>, Kate, Frances Jane Fannie, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  He died at the age of 40 on March 1st, 1907 in Gladesville, Preston, WV.2
