Cartwright Hammett

Cartwright was born in 1738 in St Marys, St Mary's, Maryland, United States. Cartwright's father was Robert Hammett and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Wheatly. His maternal grandparents were John Wheatley and Winifred Horne. He had four brothers and a sister, named McKelvie, John, Robert, William H and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the six children.
