Mary Jane Surber

Mary Jane was born about 1817 in Virginia.¹ Mary Jane's father was Jacob Surber and her mother was Nancy Laura Waggoner. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Surber and Margaret Coursey. She was an only child. She died on April 3rd, 1900 in Ten Mile Twp., Macon Co., Missouri. She was buried in the Mount Tabor Cemetery, Atlanta, Macon Co., Missouri.

- On 2 Apr 1872 she married second Elijah Elder, the father of her son-in-law James Andrew Elder and her daughter-in-law Melissa A. (Elder) Walker.
