Henry was born in 1729 in Burscough, Lancashire, , England.1   Henry's father was John Porter and his mother was Jane Ashcroft.  His paternal grandparents are Thomas Porter and Elizabeth Tyson; his maternal grandfather is Henry Ashcroft.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 53 in September 1782 in Ormskirk, England, United Kingdom.1
