Geoffrey Martel

Geoffrey was born on October 13th, 1006 in Anjou, Isere, Rhone-Alpes, France.¹ Geoffrey's father was Fulk III The Black Count of Anjou and his mother was Hildegard of Sundgau. His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey Greymantle and Adelaide De Vermandois. He had a sister named Ermengarde. He was the older of the two children. He had a half-sister named ERMENGARDE COUNTESS OF. He died at the age of 55 on November 14th, 1061 in Anjou, Isere, Rhone-Alpes, France.¹

- Born b. 1006, the only son of Fulk the Black and Hildegard of Sundgauadded, Geoffrey added to the Angevin dominions by conquering Maine and Touraine but died without a male heir. The Gesta Normannorum Ducum records of him 'a treacherous man in every respect, frequently inflicted assaults and intolerable pressure on his neighbours'
