William was born in 1777 in Yelvertoft, Northamptonshire.  William's father was Thomas Letts and his mother is Ann Smith.  His paternal grandparents were William Letts and Rebecca. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John, Rebecca, Mary, Elizabeth and Ann.  He died at the age of 48 in September 1825 in Shawell Leicestershire.  He was buried on September 29th, 1825 in Shawell Leicestershire.
