Susan was born in 1794. Susan's father was Abraham Crompton?? and her mother was Alice Hayhurst. Her paternal grandfather was John Crompton; her maternal grandfather was Richard Hayhurst. She had two brothers and six sisters, named ABRAHAM, Francis, Ellen, Catherine, Hannah, Elizabeth, Lucy and Sarah. She is the seventh oldest of the nine children.
