Magdalena Grace's father was Jan Vorster van Blerk and her mother was Lousia Tabitha Robertson (van Blerk). Her paternal grandparents were Petrus Jacobus van Blerk and Magdalena Zacharia Vorster; her maternal grandparents were Philip Robinson and Martha Elizabeth Cornelia Beytell (Robertson). She had a brother and eight sisters, named Peter James, Louisa Violet, Philippa Louisa, Martha Maud, Gertruda Rosina, Elizabeth Ann, Ann, Benjamina Maria and Janett Beatrice.-
