Desmond Simon van Blerk 
Desmond Simon was born on March 22nd, 1929. Desmond Simon's father was Johannes Nicolaas van Blerk and his mother was Elizabeth Anne Shanahan (van Blerk). His paternal grandparents were Simon Petrus van Blerk and Hendrika Elizabeth Osmond (van Blerk); his maternal grandparents were Hendry John Shanahan and Mary Brady (Shanahan). He had a brother and a sister, named Paul Nicolaas and Marie Bridger. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 86 on December 9th, 2015.-
