Rajiv's father is Narayan Shukla and his mother was bhagwati. His maternal grandfather is Kanaiya and his maternal grandmother was Suraj Bai (Gilli Bai). He has three brothers named Ghanshyam Prasad, Sahdeo and Sukhdeo.
