Rajendra, known as Guddu, was born on July 17th, 1965. Guddu's father was Late Bijay Shankar Awasthi Ambikapur and his mother was Kalawali Awasthi. His paternal grandparents were Late Sundarlal Awasthi and Late Sukhda Awasthi. He has a brother and a sister, named Raj and Sandhya. He is the youngest of the three children.
