Bessie was born on March 8th, 1882 in Battersea, Surrey.  Bessie's father was Charles Henry TEGUES and her mother was Mary Jane KNELLER.  Her paternal grandparents were William TEAGUES and Ann SINGLETON; her maternal grandparents were Charles KNELLER and Jane WINCKWORTH. She had a brother and two sisters, named William Robert, Florence Mary and Charlotte Ann.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had three half-sisters named Gladys Lilian M, Dorothy Kate and Mabel Edith M.  She died at the age of 81 in 1963 in Winchester District.
