Catherine Edna was born in 1879 in Burston, Norfolk, England.  Catherine Edna's father was Jabez POTTER and her mother was Hannah Maria LOVACK.  Her paternal grandparents were George POTTER and Elizabeth BALE. She had four brothers and a sister, named Wilson, Bale William, Bartle Barker, Cyril Thomas and Pamela Ruth.  She was the oldest of the six children.
