George was born in 1838 in Rainham, Kent.  George's father was Abraham Croucher and his mother was Sophia Beney.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Croucher and Jane Ann Settatree.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 36 in 1874 in Milton, Kent.
