Hugh was born in 1472 in Presaddfed, Anglesey, Wales.1   Hugh's father was Llewelyn Ap Hwlkin and his mother was Mallt Verch Evan Lloyd.  His paternal grandparents were Hwlkin ApHowel and Eva Verch Gloddaeth.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 45 in 1517 in Cheshire, England.1
