Dorothy Edwards

Dorothy was born on May 12th, 1901. She died at the age of 89 in 1990.

General Notes
- According to her daughter Susan, Dorothy was an intelligent, "fiestey" and humourous woman, who enjoyed having a nice home and good standing in the community. She went to church regularly, worked as a sales clerk at a local retail store, and was kept her household meticulously clean and proper. While her husband clearly was the final authority in the household, Dorothy had a strong personality herself, and had a good, complementary relationship with her husband.

- Dorothy attended at elementary or primary level.

    - Educated through the 10th grade. Area unknown because her family moved around. Her father was an electrician with a mining company causing them to move around quite a bit when new mines opened.

Occupation Details
- Dorothy's occupation was Store Clerk part time in sales for Variety of places, in Leechburgh, PA. She quit.

    - Worked off and on for about 20 years as a clerk in a variety of different stores in her hometown.

- Dorothy and Atwood LeRoy Edwards had an affectionate relationship.

    - Susan reports that her parents had a good relationship and rarely had fights. When conflict did occur, the tendency was for nonverbal tension to dominate, and then Susan states, it would be gone. Thus, Susan never witnessed her parents discussing and negotiating with one another through conflicts.
