George F. Spinney

George was born in February 1834 in Maine.¹ George's father was Thomas Spinney and his mother was Susan. His paternal grandfather was Thomas Spinney and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Thompson. He had a brother named Edward. He was the older of the two children. He died after 1900 in Swampscott, Essex County, Massachusetts.

General Notes
- George enlisted on August 6, 1864 and mustered out with the 4th Massachusetts Heavy Artillery, Company B on August 18, 1864 for a years service. He mustered out a second time on June 17, 1865. George joined Lander Post 5 Grand Army of the Republic on March 26, 1896. His picture can be seen at the Grand Army of the Republic Museum on 58 Andrew Street, Lynn, Massachusetts, 01901.
