Stephen Ricker Dow

Stephen was born on March 1st, 1872. Stephen's father was Jabez Stephen Dow and his mother was Sarah Mitchell Ricker. His paternal grandparents were David Moore Russell Dow and Mary Elvira Bullock. He had a brother and three sisters, named David, Sadie, Nina and Martha. He was the second oldest of the five children.

General Notes
- Stephen was a member of the Boston Stock Exchange and president of a chain of copper companies. Having exhausted all his own recourses to sustain the stocks of them on the Exchange, he used treasury funds for the purpose. He was expelled and served in the State's prison. He was paroled in 1917.
  Stephen returned to Boston and resumed business and eventually lived down his misfortunes. Apparantly, his acts which were questioned were not done for personal gain, but rather to uphold the credit of the corporation in which he took great pride.
