  • New Hampshire state records show his date of birth to be January 1.
    Simon lived where Moses Swett Lamprey was living in 1890. He served only two years as selectman, but, in compensation, as it were, was chairman of the committee appointed to build a barn on the parsonage lot. As constable he was rigorous; he is on record as never skimping garrison duty and rendered a good account of himself in the Indian fights. He made a will on September 11, 1707, making his brother Jabez executor, leaving to his wife Mehitable land between that of his brothers Samuel and Jabez "toward Hampton Beach, commonly known as the Captain Dow pasture, a marsh given to me by my Honor'd father." His will mentions all the children except Henry, who was posthumous. A marriage intention is between O. Page and Mahittabill Dow and a subsequent entry Henry Dow, son of Soloman and Mehetable, now wife of Onesiphorus Page, who died on December 30, 1727. Solomon is a pen slip, for Simon and his widow duly married O. Page. An O. Page Jr. married a cousin, a daughter of Jeremiah Dow. This Page family, some of whom became Quakers at an early date, was the one of Hingham, Massachusetts, and all Hampton annals tend to indicate that there was no blood relationship with the family of Robert Page of Ormsby and Hampton. Onesiphorus Page, who was born February 10, 1678-9, son of Onesiphorus and Mary (Hauxworth), had five children by his first wife; by Mehitable he had a daughter Mary.
