William VIII of Poitou

William VIII was born in 1099 in Toulouse, Haute-Garonne, Midi-Pyrenees, France. William VIII's father was William VII of Poitou and his mother was Maud Philippa da Toulouse. His paternal grandparents were William of Poitou and Hildegarde of Burgundy; his maternal grandparents were William of Toulouse and Emma de Mortaigne. He had a brother and two sisters, named Raimond, Agnes and Mahaut. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 38 on April 9th, 1137 in Santiago de Compostela, La Coruna, Galicia, Spain.
