Joan Plantagenet

Joan was born in 1272 in Acre, Holyland, Palestine.¹ Joan's father was Edward I Plantagenet and her mother was Eleanor Castile. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Plantagenet and Eleanor Berenger; her maternal grandparents were Ferdinand King Castile and Jeanne DeDammartin. She had four brothers and six sisters, named John, Henry, Alphonso Earl Chester, King, Katherine, Eleanor, Margaret, Berengaria, Mary and Elizabeth. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 35 on April 23rd, 1307 in Bur Church of Austin Friars, Clare, Suffolk, England.¹
