Her paternal grandparents were Vermundo The De LEON and Elvira De CASTILE; her maternal grandparents were Count Menendo Gonzalez De Menendez of GALICIA and Countess Toda Elmentrude De Major MENENDEZ. She had a sister named Ximena Afonso. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 54 on November 7th, 1067 in Frómista, Palencia, Castilla-Leon, Spain.¹
