Mary Ann was born about 1828 in Norfolk, England.1   Mary Ann's father is Robert Hancock and her mother is Ann Richardson.  Her maternal grandparents are William Richardson and Jane. She has three brothers and a sister, named William, Robert, James and Elizabeth.  She is the third oldest of the five children.
