William was born on July 9th, 1883 in Horsmonden, Kent, England.  William's father is Frances Springett and his mother is Kate Twort-Larkin.  His maternal grandparents are Henry Twort-Larkin and Elizabeth Caselden. He had two brothers and a sister, named John Twort, Stephen and Mary A.  He died at the age of 66 in 1949.
