Martha was born in March 1833 in Rowan County, North Carolina.  Martha's father was Jones and her mother was Elizabeth Jones. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Walter, Ann and Margaret.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 37 on December 30th, 1870 in Greene County, IL.
