Elizabeth was born on September 18th, 1778 in North Carolina.  Elizabeth's father was John Clifford and her mother was Rachel Gray.  Her paternal grandparents were Michael Clifford, Sr. and Maiden Painter; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Gray and Sarah Eaton. She had a brother named Joseph.  She was the older of the two children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Michael and Jean.  She died at the age of 49 on September 30th, 1827 in Jefferson, TN.
