Rifke was born on May 22nd, 1806.  Rifke's father was Meir Ellingen and her mother was Lea.  Her paternal grandparents were Binyamin Ellingen and Kela; her maternal grandparents were Elieser and Kela. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Michoel, Yosef, Kelche and Gela.  She was the youngest of the five children.
