Jean was born in 1559 and his baptism took place on June 7th, 1559 in St. Omer, Normandy, France.  Jean's father is Robert SHAPLEIGH and his mother was Marie BLABON.  His paternal grandparents are John SHAPLEIGH and Elizabeth MARTIN. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Alexander S., Richard, Nicholas, William, Elizabeth and Joan.  He died at the age of 69 on April 12th, 1628 in Totnes, Devonshire, England.
