Jonathan was born on November 15th, 1624 in Of Halifax, Yorkshire, England and his baptism took place on December 19th, 1624 in South Ouram, Halifax, Yorkshire, England.  Jonathan's father was Matthew MITCHELL and his mother was Sarah Or Susan BUTTERFIELD.  His paternal grandparents are Thomas MITCHELL and Elizabeth CLAY; his maternal grandfather was Benjamin BUTTERFIELD and his maternal grandmother is Mrs Ann BUTTERFIELD. He had six brothers and eleven sisters, named David, Matthew, Jonathan, John, Nathan, Abraham, Dorothy, Abigail, David, Martha, Jonathan, Susannah, Matthew, Hannah, Susanna, Elizabeth and Mary Sarah.  He died at the age of 43 on July 9th, 1668 in Cambridge, Suffolk, Ma.
