Payn was born about 1086 in Of, Ewyas, Herefordshire, England.  Payn's father was John "Monoculus" FITZNIGELL and his mother is Mrs-John MONOCULUS.  His paternal grandfather is Nigell Of CHESTER. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Payne (Paganus) (Pagan), Eustace Fitzjohn, William, William, Agnes, Agnes and Alice.  He died on July 10th, 1137.
