Robert I "The Bruce" King Of was born on July 11th, 1274 in Writtle, Near Chelmsford, Essex, England.  Robert I "The Bruce" King Of's father was Robert De BRUS and his mother was Margaret Countess Of CARRICK.  His paternal grandparents were Robert "the Competitor" De BRUS and Isabel De CLARE; his maternal grandfather was Neil Earl Of CARRICK and his maternal grandmother is Margaret STEWART. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Edward, Nigel (Neil), Thomas, Alexander, Isabella Bruce Queen Of, Christina, Mary, Maud (Matilda) (Mary), Margaret, Elizabeth and Margery.  He died at the age of 54 on June 7th, 1329 in , Cardross, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.  His burial was in Abbey Church, Dunfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland.
