John was born in 1745 in Salisbury, Chester, Penn.  John's father is William QUAINTANCE and his mother is Tamson Orson.  His paternal grandparents are John QUAINTANCE and Unknown; his maternal grandfather was George ORSON. He had seven brothers, and also a sibling of unknown gender named George, George, William, James, Joseph, John, William and George.  He died at the age of 45 in 1790.
