Richard was born about 1128 in Of, Holton, Yorkshire, England.  Richard's father was Eustace Fitzjohn CLAVERING and his mother was Matilda Agnes FITZNIGEL.  His paternal grandfather was John "Monoculus" FITZNIGELL and his paternal grandmother is Mrs-John MONOCULUS.  He was an only child.  He died in 1157.
