Sigurd I "the Mighty" was born about 0832 in Of, Maer, Nord Trondelag, Norway.  Sigurd I "the Mighty"'s father is Eystein "Glumra" IVARSSON and his mother is Ascrida (Aseda) ROGNVALDSDATTER COUNTESS OF OPPLAND.  His paternal grandparents are Ivar HALFDANSSON and EYSTEINSDATTER; his maternal grandfather was Rognvald OLAFSSON and his maternal grandmother is Mrs-Rognvald OLAFSSON. He had two brothers and a sister, named Rognvald I "The Wise", Malahule (Haldrick) (Malahulc) (Tresney) and Svanhild.  He died in 0874 in , , Orkney, Orkney Islands, Scotland.  His burial was in Ekkialsbakki, Sydero, Dornoch Firth.
