Mary was born about 1797 in Kirkland, Garstang, Lancashire, Eng. Chr. Kirkland, Garstang, Lancashire.  Mary's father was Thomas BARTON and her mother was Jennie JENKINS.  Her paternal grandparents are Henry BARTON and Elizabeth Of Billsboro. She had five brothers and a sister, named Mark, Thomas Jr., John, William, Mark and Margaret.  Her burial was on February 1st, 1797.
