Johann was born on August 30th, 1759 in Bonneberg and his baptism took place in 1759 in Valdorf.  Johann's father was Johann Christoph Flesner and his mother was Anna Catharine Gieselmann.  His paternal grandfather was Johann Jost Flesner and his paternal grandmother is Margareta Elisabeth Klocke; his maternal grandparents are Bernhard Heinrich Gieseler and Anna Maria Sölms. He had a brother.  He died at the age of 56 on April 19th, 1816.
