Jacobus was born on April 25th, 1774.  Jacobus' father was Gregorius Ons and his mother was Joanna Maria Vander Elst.  His paternal grandparents were Guilielmus  Ons and Maria De Ruijter. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joannes, Adriannus, Franciscus, Guilielmus , Anna Maria and Angelina.  He was the third youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Guilielmus  and Maria Catharina.  He died at just 8 days old on May 3rd, 1774 in Lubbeek.
