Antonius was born on March 19th, 1802 in Aarschot.  Antonius' father was Antoon-Josephus De Preter and his mother was Maria-Theresia Muyts.  His paternal grandparents were Petrus De Preter and Catharina Stevens. He had a brother and four sisters, named Philippus, Marie Catharina, Anna Maria, Anna Catharina and Maria-Theresia.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 69 on December 20th, 1871 in Aarschot.
