Jan was born in 1695.  Jan's father was Jan De Kock and his mother was Magdalena Van Wolput.  His maternal grandparents were Hendrik Van Wolput and Maria Vleminckx. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Adriaan, Petrus, Petrus, Joachim , Margareta, Catarina and Anna.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 2 in 1697.
